In a new decree issued June 12, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., has declared a Year of Youth in the Diocese of Trenton, beginning July 1, 2018, and closing on the Feast of St. Aloysius, patron saint for Catholic Youth, June 21, 2019. The Year of Youth encompasses multiple events over the next year aimed at inspiring young Catholics in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties to own their faith and act upon it. More ...

Cum Laude: Students demonstrate Latin skills, language's relevance

NJ Catholic Youth Rally draws nearly 2,000 for day of fun, faith at Great Adventure

Catholic families and youth from around the state gathered May 20 at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, for a day of fun, fellowship and prayer during the 23rd annual New Jersey Catholic Youth Rally.

“It was great seeing how many Catholics are here and how we can all come together as one besides all of our differences or the way we look,” said Mirelis Villegas, a teen from St. Joseph Parish, Trenton. “We all have the same faith and we all believe in one thing.”

Box City teaches Barnegat youth fear, frustration felt by homeless families

You lose a job. You get sick. Your relationship falls apart. A natural disaster ruins your home. You may be alone or have a family – kids, a pet or three. Staying with family or friends may not be an option. What do you do?

That’s the question organizers from St. Mary Parish, Barnegat, and Family Promise of Southern Ocean County hope youth and families learned during the annual Cardboard Box City event, held overnight April 27 at St. Mary of the Parish Church, Manahawkin.
