Five men to be ordained to the priesthood June 5

Bishop John M. Smith will ordain the five newest priests of the Diocese of Trenton during a Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, June 5 at 10 a.m. Each of the candidates for ordination have recently received their first parish assignments as priests of the diocese, which will be effective June 18.

Rev. Mr. Ricardo Benitez,
a native of Colombia, has been appointed parochial vicar of Jesus, the Good Shepherd Parish, Riverside. To learn more about Rev. Mr. Benitez and his hopes for life as a priest, click here.

Rev. Mr. Michael Hall, who was for many years an active member of St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton Square, has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Barnabas Parish, Bayville. For more on Rev. Mr. Hall's unique journey to the priesthood, click here.

Rev. Mr. Marcin D. Kania, a native of Poland whose family came to the U.S. in 1999, has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Leo the Great Parish, Lincroft. Rev. Mr. Kania discusses life in Poland and his decision to become a priest in an interview with The Monitor here.

Rev. Mr.  Roberto Padilla, another Colombian-born seminarian, has been appointed parochial vicar of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Trenton. To read about how Rev. Mr. Padilla came to the Trenton Diocese, click here.

Rev. Mr. Matthew L. Riedlinger, who came to the Diocese of Trenton in 2005 after graduating from the Catholic University of America, has been appointed parochial vicar of St. Aloysius Parish, Jackson. Find out more about how Rev. Mr. Riedlinger discerned his vocation here.
