The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas can become the most stressful time of the year. While people find it challenging to keep up with their varied daily activities, preparing for Christmas can add to the stress with the extra tasks of shopping, attending parties, decorating and cleaning.
And even though people may have a full schedule from Thanksgiving until Christmas, Msgr. Vincent Gartland, a retired priest of the Diocese, says they “might end up with an empty feeling, even harried and cranky for the holidays.”
For folks who are looking for a way to avoid the annual wear and tear of the month before Christmas and find themselves anticipating the joy of the Christmas celebration of family and friends, Msgr. Gartland extends an invitation for people to attend “The Great Adventure of Advent 2017” that he will present at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 250 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29 in St. George Church, 1370 River Road (Route 29N), Titusville.
“This hour-long program will provide the opportunity to reflect on the meaning of the season and some possible ways to arrive at Christmas morning renewed and refreshed, filled with excitement and peace,” said Msgr. Gartland, noting that both programs are free and open to the public.
