Experiencing the stretch of Route 9 that cuts through the Pine Barrens in Bayville these days, it’s hard to imagine how different the geography was 50 years ago.
The once sparse population of the area has grown to the point where it’s not out of the question now – especially in the summer months – for weekend Mass goers to endure traffic tie ups along the thorofare as they drive to St. Barnabas Church on Woodland Road.
But parishioner Jennifer DeMarco recalled with a smile, that as a child, there was far less traffic congestion on area roads in general on the way to the church her grandparents, Robert and Phyllis Whittaker helped build. More ... Monday, September 19, 2016
Sunday, October 2 is designated as Respect Life Sunday by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the entire month of October is commemorated as Respect Life Month.

It’s been one hundred years since land was purchased for a mission church to serve Catholics in the Bayshore town of Keansburg.
In the decades that followed, that small mission church known as St. Ann would undergo a vast transformation. From its early days as a place of worship mainly for the summer visitors who flocked to what was then one of the premiere resorts of New Jersey, the parish, established in 1924, grew to become a beacon of faith and a bulwark of service to the community at large.
