Diocese's faithful march for life, share personal stories

In previous years, participants in the annual March for Life showcased their tenacious commitment to the pro-life cause by steadfastly bracing wind, sleet and snow on behalf of the unborn.

This year in Washington, temperatures in the high 40s helped marchers feel a little less frigid – but no less determined.

“I have the opportunity to see so many students grow in their faith and stand up for what they believe,” said Deborah Flego, moderator of Red Bank Catholic High School’s Respect Life club, Caseys4Life.

Pope Francis calls for Church with 'Amazonian and indigenous' face

PUERTO MALDONADO, Peru – Pope Francis called on indigenous people of the Amazon to work with missionaries and bishops to shape a Church with an "Amazonian and indigenous" face.

The Pope pledged the Church's "whole-hearted option for the defense of life, the defense of the earth and the defense of cultures" and called his audience to work together toward the Synod of Bishops for the Amazon, which he has called for 2019.

Jan. 28 - Jesus exorcises the demons that lie within us
At the very outset of Jesus’ public ministry, he enters the Synagogue in Capernaum. Undoubtedly, as there is some evidence suggested in the Gospels that Jesus and Mary had relocated there at some point after the death of Joseph, this was very familiar territory to Jesus. More ...

How can it all have a happy ending?
There’s a line in the writings of Julian of Norwich, the famous 14th century mystic and perhaps the first theologian to write in English, which is endlessly quoted by preachers, poets, and writers: But all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well. God's mouthpiece for vulnerable children
Jen Lilley didn’t just play a mom in her recent Hallmark Channel movie “Harvest Love,” she became a foster parent in real life because of her passion for children in the most vulnerable circumstances. Growing up, her family’s home sometimes served as a “safe house” for youth because her father was a judge, and her mother ran a crisis pregnancy center that helped young women going through unplanned pregnancies choose life for their unborn babies – or offered them counseling if they had already chosen otherwise.
