Students in St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel, know that when it comes to pep rallies, there will always be an unknown, added surprise that goes beyond the usual slate of activities – athletic teams touting their latest achievements, the band playing contemporary music and the dramatic and stunning routines performed by the cheerleaders.

FAITH ALIVE: Advent week three - Joy!
Christmas is near, and there is too little time, too much to do and still more to come. We're supposed to shout, "Joy to the world!" but the actual feeling of joy might seem quite distant or exhausting, forced, like a photographer's insistence that we "smile" when we really don't feel like it. A Message from Bishop O'Connell: Celebration of Christmas is not just for children

Every once in a while, at parties or dinners before Christmas, I’ve asked adults about their holiday plans only to hear some lament, “Oh, Christmas is for children.”
